Surren began his journey in cricket in Trinidad & Tobago- one of the strongest cricketing nations in the West Indies. From playing primary schools cricket to Premier level club cricket in Trinidad, Surren moved on to holding posts in cricket coaching and administration. He has a close association with former West Indies Regional Development Officer and current Trinidad and Tobago Development Coach, Kumar Rampat, who together played club cricket for B&R Sports Club (now known as Premier club Caldrac) and stood as high ranking board members within the club set up.
After moving to Canada and continuing his cricket with Wanderers, Surren has dedicated much of his time and efforts to the OCA&C and has been helping motivate and inspire the younger generation to achieve more. He is a certified Level 2 Cricket Australia coach and also a member of the Coaches Association of Ontario.
As an Ontario Cricket Academy & Club coach he has worked tirelessly on projects such as the highly successful tour to Trinidad in 2014 and the Mississauga Cricket Festival.
