| Gary Grewal- Senior Player:
Gary is looking to cement his spot in the OCAC top team for 2012. This is his look into 2012 Indoor Training:
How will indoor training help you?
Off Season indoor training is the best time for skill development. At the end of every season I have found things in my technique which i need to tweak, and drill work that you (Derek) assign me always improves those little parts of my technique.
What are you hoping to accomplish through the winter?
I have a habit of getting set and still not dominating the bowling and I believe its a combination of strength and vision. So in net sessions I want to be able to make sure that I put away bad balls, keeping a track of the ratio should help me track my progress
Specifically, at the end of last season Malintha (Gajanayake) asked me to work on my back lift which will help my placement and timing. these should go a long way in increasing my production. So I am hoping to work on that.
Why is it important to keep training without too much of a gap?
I believe if you are not practicing for a while all that hard work that you put into doing something right can disappear and old habits will creep in. And if you notice something about your technique at the end of your session best way to fix it is get back in their as soon as you can. Its not something you can note down and get back to afterwards. |
